Clay note

Wide soles stall in river clay

A wide mid-sole that skipped on a dry mat can stop like a barge once Black Belt clay takes a drink from the Alabama River. Bounce width is not a personality. It is a reaction to soil that grabs.

Tessa keeps a lane actually wet so the stall shows up before you pay for a stamp. We would rather embarrass a grind on Commerce Street than on the sixth hole at Maxwell.

If your municipal drains faster than river-side clay, say so. We will still run the wet lane, but the census will weight the fried bermuda more honestly.
